The HSE Assistant will support the HSE Department in implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and national legislation under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the HSE Manager in developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
Monitor workplace compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Conduct facility and customer site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Support accident/incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
Assist in coordinating emergency response plans, drills, and training sessions (e.g., First Aid, CPR, defensive driving, fire safety).
Provide safety orientation and awareness programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors.
Participate in regulatory inspections and ensure timely submission of reports.
Assist in monitoring hazardous waste, permit-to-work systems, and contractor safety compliance.
Support monthly HSE meetings and reporting.
- National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Safety (NEBOSH U.K.) Level 3
- Associated Degree or Diploma level certificate would be an asset.
- OSHA 30- Hour Program
- First Aid and CPR Certificate Training Program
- Firefighting and fire warden training.
- Knowledge of the MS suite of applications
- At least two (1) years in an industry focused on Health Safety and the Environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
