We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented HR Operations Project Officer to support the effective execution, governance, and continuous improvement of our HR Operations function. This role will be responsible for coordinating projects, driving operational initiatives, strengthening compliance and process controls, optimizing HR systems and documentation, and ensuring the timely delivery of key HR priorities.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Human Resources Operations Manager, this role plays a key part in driving the successful execution of HR Operations priorities, projects, and compliance initiatives. The position focuses on enhancing operational effectiveness through process improvement, project coordination, system optimization, and strong governance practices. By strengthening controls, documentation, reporting, and HRIS capabilities, the role helps deliver greater efficiency, accountability, consistency, and scalability across HR Operations while supporting the organization's continued growth and success.
Key Functions
- Coordinate and drive HR Operations projects, initiatives, and compliance-related activities to successful completion.
- Monitor and track HR operational and compliance matters, ensuring timely follow-up, accountability, and closure.
- Manage project plans, milestones, deliverables, and status reporting for assigned initiatives.
- Review HR processes, systems, and workflows to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead and support operational improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the implementation of operational controls and governance practices across HR Operations.
- Maintain organized and compliant HR documentation, records, templates, and knowledge management resources.
- Support HRIS (BambooHR) enhancements, data quality initiatives, and process improvements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and management updates to support decision-making and operational visibility.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and compliance gaps, recommending practical solutions.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and related action plans through to completion.
- Build effective relationships across HR and business teams to support operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Operations Management, Project Management or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in HR Operations, Business Operations, Project Coordination, Process Improvement, Compliance Operations or a similar operational environment.
- Experience coordinating projects, initiatives, operational improvement activities or cross-functional workstreams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with HRIS (BambooHR), business systems, operational trackers or reporting tools would be an asset.
- Certification in Project Management, Process Improvement, Business Process Management or a related discipline would be an asset.
