Location: Montego Bay - Jamaica

Reporting to: Director People Operations Rest of World

Overview of Role:

The HR Manager will lead and execute strategic HR initiatives to support a dynamic workforce within a fast-paced contact centre and business operations environment. As a trusted partner to local leadership, the role will ensure compliance with Jamaican employment law, drive employee engagement, and foster a high-performance culture aligned with company values. 

Key responsibilities include management of the local performance development programme, oversight of weekly and monthly payroll operations, and continuous improvement of HR processes. This role is focused exclusively on Jamaica-based operations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a strong employee experience across the Montego Bay site.

 

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Balance day-to-day operational HR tasks with long-term site strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and evolving workforce needs. 
  • Proactively identify and implement HR initiatives that drive employee engagement, performance, and retention on-site. 
  • Performance Development Programme
  • Manage the existing performance development programme, ensuring consistent application across all teams and alignment with organisational goals. 
  • Support managers in delivering effective performance conversations, provide training and resources, and monitor programme effectiveness. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous growth and high performance. 
  • Payroll Management
  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls in compliance with Jamaican regulations.
  • Partner with Finance and external payroll providers to ensure accuracy, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Address payroll queries and ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • HR Process & System Optimization
  • Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to HR processes, policies, and systems to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Leverage HR technology and data analytics to support decision-making and measure HR effectiveness.
  • Employee Relations, Compliance & Policy Development
  • Ensure HR policies align with Jamaican labour law and company standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
  • Maintain strong compliance practices, including documentation and case management.
  • Stakeolder & Relationship Management
  • Build trusted relationships with leadership, managers, and employees.
  • Act as a strategic HR partner influencing decisions that impact the workforce.
  • Culture, Engagement & Communication
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen company culture and values across the Montego Bay site.
  • Lead internal communication efforts to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • HR Budget & Resource Management
  • Manage the local HR budget and allocate resources effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Represent HR in cross-functional projects, contributing to company-wide initiatives that impact employee experience and operational success.
  • Ad Hoc HR Responsibilities
  • Support additional HR and business needs as required to contribute to the overall success of the organisation.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Business, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CIPD, SHRM, or local HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ HR experience, including operational HR, employee relations, and HR project delivery.
  • Experience managing a team and partnering with senior leadership.
  • Payroll expertise, ideally with Jamaican payroll systems and statutory requirements.
  • HR Strategy & Compliance: Strong understanding of Jamaican labour law, HR best practices, and policy development.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Ability to influence leadership and build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, strategic HR guidance. Strong analytical mindset with experience using HR data and KPIs to inform decisions.
  • Organisation & Agility: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Innovation & Digital Fluency: Experience with modern HR tools and a mindset for continuous improvement.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
