Human Resources Generalist
A reputable company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This position provides essential support across various HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an understanding of HR processes, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Time & Attendance Management
Track, record, and ensure accuracy of employee attendance data (including overtime, sick days, and leave).
Leave Administration
Process and track all leave requests
Maintain and update leave balances for all employees.
Payroll Support
Assist with the preparation and collection of timesheets/overtime forms
Provide administrative support for payroll-related queries from employees.
Recruitment & Selection
Assist in posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
Help coordinate pre-employment assessments and reference checks.
Onboarding & Induction
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing welcome kits, contracts, and necessary forms.
Conduct initial orientation sessions or prepare materials for new employees.
Employee Records Management
Maintain and update accurate employee records in HR databases or physical files.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements for record retention and confidentiality.
Employee Relations Support
Provide support in resolving employee queries or concerns regarding HR policies or procedures.
Help maintain a positive work environment by promoting open communication between employees and management.
Assist in the handling of minor employee grievances and escalate major issues to HR management.
Training and Development Assistance
Coordinate logistics for employee training programs and workshops.
Maintain records of employee training sessions and track completion.
HR Policy Compliance & Support
Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
Ensure that employees are informed of HR policies, benefits, and company procedures.
Assist in ensuring company practices comply with local labor laws.
General Administrative Support
Prepare HR-related reports, letters, memos, and other documents as needed.
Assist with filing, document organization, and office HR materials.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
Experience: 3-5 years as a HR
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software.
Knowledge of Jamaican labor laws.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proactive, energetic, and deadline-driven.
Ability to work in a diverse environment.
