JOB TITLE: HOUSEKEEPER

SUMMARY: Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in keeping with the hotel’s standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensure that all hotel laundry and ironing is turned over in a timely fashion to meet guest needs.
• Ensure effective use of housekeeping stock and equipment to minimize wastage and equipment downtime due to misuse.
• Ensure that the linens are neatly and systematically arranged and stacked.
• Receive, sort and double check conditions of all linen, record all outgoing and incoming from the laundry thoroughly before storing and issuing. Store laundered linen on shelves after verifying numbers and types of articles.
• Sort items and count and record number of items soiled or damaged. Separate linen that need repair and / or special treatment and forward it to the Housekeeping Manager for immediate action.
• Ensure high standard of cleanliness the Laundry.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
• Promote a hospitable and professional image to the guests and give full cooperation to any customer requiring assistance, with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude. Render personal assistance to patrons.
• Give full cooperation to any co-worker requiring assistance in a prompt caring, smiling and helpful manner and to be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business and guest needs. 
• To understand and strictly adhere to all Company Policies.
• Performer any other duties as assigned to by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Secondary school certificate; or one to three years related experience and/or training.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers and other employees of the hotel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to perform mathematical operations.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions whether in written or oral form.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• A moderate noise level must be maintained in the work environment at all times.
