Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Disbursement Operations team in the capacity of:

 HEART Trainee – Accounting Associate (Disbursement Operations)

Generate, process and reconcile electronic files in the electronic disbursement repository.

Monitor and process rejected transactions: maintaining logs and electronic files for rejects and reconciliations.

 Investigate and respond to queries from business lines and other financial institutions.

In partnership with HEART/NSTA TRUST, Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking candidates for the School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) specially designed to bridge the gap between school and the world of work for recent school leavers. Our School Leavers’ Training Opportunities Programme (SLTOP) is for school leavers between the ages of 18 to 23, who have six or more CXC or GCE passes including English Language and Mathematics. In the SLTOP, trainees have the opportunity to work with Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited for up to one year, where they can fully acquaint themselves with the company’s daily operations in order to gain rich, immersive practical knowledge.

Location: Kingston

As HEART Trainee - Disbursement Operations, you will:

• Generate electronic disbursement, ACH and mass payment files from core systems.
• Maintain and manage files within the centralized repository for secure e‑banking uploads.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all generated files.
• Support the Bank Reconciliation Unit with monthly ACH and mass payment reconciliations.
• Prepare journals for rejected Group Health transactions repaid by cheque.
• Investigate and respond to electronic disbursement queries and exceptions.
• Download and process rejected and reversal files from e‑banking platforms and repository.
• Coordinate corrections and resubmissions with business lines.
• Maintain an accurate log of all rejected, reversed and repaid transactions.
• Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• A minimum of six (6) subjects at the GCE (Ordinary) or CSEC (General) level, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Basic knowledge of life insurance operations.
• Effective communication (oral and written) skills.
• Good time management and human relations skills.
• Ability to type.
• Ability to work under pressure
