Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Treasury and Asset Management Operations team in the capacity of:
Group Treasury Operations Officer
Have direct responsibility for the daily transactions that support the activities of the department with greater focus on the Sigma Unit Operations portfolio.
Provide operational support to Client Service Representatives for all branches, particularly for the processing of subscriptions and redemptions of units; the daily monitoring of Sigma streamlining files, paymaster files, interest payment files, daily holding report to Citibank, monitoring of the main Sigma bank account as well as the hypothecation and release of client funds upon request.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the system data ensuring that the transactions are properly executed and recorded.
Location: Kingston
As a Group Treasury Operations Officer, you will:
- Promote quality service standards by observing and delivering consistent quality service in compliance with service level agreements.
- Adhere to custodial policies and procedures and maintain all documents, cheques and vouchers in a secure environment.
- Monitor Sigma streamlining file, paymaster files, interest payment files and main Sigma bank a/c for incoming standing orders.
- Providing daily holding report to Citibank.
- Complete hypothecation and release of client funds upon request.
- Perform reconciliation of Sigma related settlement / bank / GL accounts.
- Perform daily filing of Sigma Transaction Forms as per established procedures.
- Process requests when received for retrieval of transaction documents to address audit and compliance requests.
- Provide support for other functions within GTAM Operations as required.
- Collaborate with Group IT and Production Support Teams to resolve system and client account issues that are affecting client experience, service delivery and operating efficiency.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance /Banking / Management Studies or a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- At least two (2) years’ working experience in banking or operations within a financial institution.
- Completion of the Caribbean Securities Course would be an asset.
- Knowledge of the operations of a Unit Trust would be a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of investment banking functions would be an asset.
- Exceptional analytical skills, strong oral and written communications skills, meticulous and detail-oriented.
- Sound knowledge of settlements procedures.
- Working knowledge of various settlements systems both local and international.
- Must be a team player, problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated and possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
