Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Treasury and Asset Management - Treasury & Trading team in the capacity of:
Group Treasury Operations Associate - Treasury & Trading
Perform the daily transactions that support the activities of the Group Treasury and Asset Management Operations team through the efficient and effective monitoring and processing of settlements for the Treasury functions across the Sagicor Group.
Monitor, research and post interest / coupon and principal payments.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the system data ensuring that the entire spectrum of the Securities & Treasury Settlement transactions are properly executed for the relevant entities of the Sagicor Group.

As a Group Treasury Operations Associate, you will:
- Promote quality service standards by observing and delivering consistent quality service in compliance with Service Level Agreements.
- Attend approved training courses to enhance the development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
- Handle in a timely and accurate manner the reconciliation of diaries and dispatching of instructions for interest / coupon and principal payments received.
- Instruct Treasury & client reps to pay clients’ respective payments.
- Process new JMD funds received in the BOJ Account for Repurchase Agreements.
- Process all entries that pass through the BOJ Account, Jam clear and e-gate.
- Reconcile and clear settlement accounts including BOJ, overseas brokers and Citi-Outsourcing accounts.
- Prepare letters for incoming funds from overseas brokers for coupon/interest payments and principal payments.
- Prepare letters of confirmation to local brokers where necessary.
- Process client pay-outs on the system.
- Respond to queries and research in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor the bank accounts.
- Input transactions on JAMCLEAR/PO when required.
- Provide support for other settlement functions required throughout the day.
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- An Associate's Degree in Finance / Management studies or a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- At least one (1) year’s working experience in a financial institution.
- Completion of the Caribbean Securities Course would be an asset.
- Exceptional analytical skills, strong oral and written communications skills, meticulous and detail-oriented.
- Must be a team player, problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated and possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Able to easily adapt to changing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of settlements procedures.
- Working knowledge of various settlements systems both local and international.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels, stakeholders and officials of other public and private entities.
