Group Manager Supply Chain and Distribution

Leads the end-to-end supply chain and distribution function, with responsibility for warehouse logistics, inventory flow, procurement, product development, manufacturing coordination and vendor management to ensure timely and efficient replenishment across the group’s retail network

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recording of purchase, storage, distribution and other transactions
• Directs the activities of the Procurement, Product Development, Warehouse and Logistics Managers and monitors their performance.
• Create and implement strategies to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost.
• Create plans, policies and implement strategies for purchasing, monitoring, storage and distribution of inventory.  
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. 
• Monitor and review storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels.
• Create and implement monitoring systems to track the movement of inventory, to ensure re-ordering and re-stocking schedules remain relevant and effective.
• Communicates with other departments and customers regarding requirements for outward goods, forwarding transportation and other logistical support.
• Capable of working weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Inventory management software e.g. Oracle Retail, NetSuite, Quickbooks etc.
• Extensive knowledge of the entire supply chain process, (from procurement to distribution). 
• Extensive knowledge of warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SMS, CRM systems and ERP software.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Ability to analyse business data.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

 Physical Requirements:

• Capable of standing / walking for extended periods.
• Must be able to work in varied indoor environments including warehouse and cooler areas.

 Minimum Training and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional Certifications in APICS-CSCP, PMP etc.
• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration will be an asset.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in supply chain leadership, with proven success in procurement, warehousing, vendor management, retail or FMCG environments.
• Any other combination of training and experience.
