Our Client, a diversified Group of Companies with operations across the construction, industrial services, and logistics sectors is seeking to appoint a Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and transformation.

 Position Summary

The GCEO will provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Group, ensuring its long-term growth, profitability, and sustainability. Working closely with the Board of Directors and shareholders, the GCEO will be accountable for shaping and executing the Group’s strategic vision, driving operational excellence across subsidiaries, strengthening governance structures, and ensuring strong performance and competitiveness.

This is a critical leadership role for an accomplished executive with the commercial insight, operational discipline, and strategic foresight to manage a complex, multi-sector enterprise and deliver results in highly competitive industries.

 

Key Responsibilities

 Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Define and execute the Group’s strategic direction in alignment with the Board’s objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, diversification, and market expansion within the region.
  • Ensure competitiveness and sustainability across all operating sectors.

 Business Performance & Accountability

  • Oversee performance across subsidiaries, establishing clear objectives and accountability frameworks.
  • Drive profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
  • Monitor performance against strategic and operational targets, initiating corrective action where necessary.

 Customer & Market Development

  • Strengthen client relationships and partnerships across key sectors.
  • Build the Group’s profile and reputation for service excellence, reliability, and performance.
  • Represent the organisation externally, promoting its brand and market presence.

 Contracts & Commercial Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of major contracts, negotiations, and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure that contracts are structured to optimise value and manage risk effectively.

 Operations & Logistics

  • Oversee major operational and logistics functions to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices across all operational areas.

Risk Management & Governance

  • Lead the development of robust risk management and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Strengthen decision-making and reporting processes to enhance transparency and accountability.

 Transformation & Modernisation

  • Drive organisational transformation and digital modernisation to enhance capability and performance.
  • Embed systems, processes, and technologies that improve productivity and integration.

 Leadership & Culture

  • Inspire and develop the senior management team, building leadership depth and succession capability.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, performance, and values-driven leadership.

 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with the Board, shareholders, employees, and external partners.
  • Represent the Group with integrity and professionalism within the broader business community.

 Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Management; postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience as a CEO, Managing Director, or senior executive in a diversified or multi-subsidiary business.
  • Strong background in operations within the energy, construction, logistics, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in driving strategic growth and operational excellence in competitive environments.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with a disciplined, results-oriented leadership style.
