To support the Group Finance Function with reconciliations, intercompany processes, treasury operations, and administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in reporting.

The Brydens Group is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position:

GROUP ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Job Purpose:

To provide support for the Group Finance Function in all aspects of reporting, compliance, risk management and quality assurance, ensuring that corporate obligations are met and the Group Finance function can effectively partner with all stakeholders of the Business to drive performance and create value.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assists with preparation of management accounts and schedules for identified subsidiaries (‘subsidiaries’) within the Group, by extracting trial balances, formatting reports, and preparing working papers
  • Provides data entry support for premium and accounts receivable sub ledger and reconciliations
  • Maintains and updates fixed asset registers for identified subsidiaries (initially Ibis Acres Limited), ensuring additions, disposals, and depreciation are properly recorded and reconciled
  • Prepares general ledger reconciliations and supporting schedules for monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Tracks subsidiary AP balances and supports preparation of monthly AP summary reports
  • Provides first-level data gathering and validation for the Group’s monthly consolidation process
  • Assists with the management of intercompany reconciliations across all Group entities, ensuring balances are recorded and reconciling items tracked to resolution
  • Prepares and circulates intercompany debit notes for review and approval
  • Assists with Parent Company reconciliations, preparing required schedules and compiling supporting documentation
  • Prepares audit working papers and supporting schedules for Group and standalone audits
  • Prepares draft variance analysis
  • Provides initial data gathering and testing support for cash flow forecasting models
  • Prepares financial analyses to support management reporting
  •  Provides support for automation projects across the Group including implementation of software and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Post-secondary Accounting qualification: Completion of ACCA Level II (minimum) or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in accounting and/or auditing.
    • Or a relevant combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in preparing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy of financial records will be an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
