Our Multinational Company, which is engaged in Manufacturing Distribution is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and results-oriented Group Accountant to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the consolidated financial management of the Group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial reporting across multiple business units.
Requirements:
- ACCA Qualified (mandatory)
- Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience in accounting and financial management
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or group environment will be considered an asset
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools
Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, manage the day to day operations of the Accounts Department which is responsible for the accounting function of Rotoplastics Holdings Limited and all its subsidiary companies, co-ordinate the preparation of management accounts, prepare, analyze, reconcile, review and maintain general ledger accounts, ensure the timely preparation of other special reports and ensure that the Group of Companies is projected as Leaders in the Industry and Good Corporate Citizens at all times.
You must at all times pay special attention to the functions being performed and promote workplace safety.
Main FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to:
- Prepare annual budgets for all companies
- Prepare and update accounting procedures.
- Review corporation tax returns for all local companies and ensure that all tax payments are made on a timely basis to avoid interest and penalties
- Submit draft financial statements (SOFP, SOCI, SOCE, SOCF, notes etc.) for audit within 30-days of the financial year end.
- Manage all communications from/to external auditors and ensure that audit queries are resolved within one day of receipt.
- prepare final accounts for the Group in accordance with international accounting standards.
- co-ordinate the preparation of management accounts in accordance with established and approved schedules.
- supervise accounting personnel, which includes work allocation, leading, training and problem resolution, taking disciplinary action and making recommendations for hiring and firing.
- create job descriptions for all accounting staff junior to you.
- review and authorize the collation and coding of invoices, vouchers, bank advices and miscellaneous journals for data entry.
- monitor local bank balances on a daily basis and review bank reconciliations as scheduled.
- plan, direct and monitor the day to day operations of subordinate accounting personnel to ensure that established work targets are achieved and productivity levels maintained.
- prepare schedules of total cash assets and arrange the necessary bank transfers.
- ensure the preparation and submission of statutory reports and payments for VAT, PAYE, NIS and Health Surcharge in accordance with established requirements and deadlines.
- ensure the preparation, analysis, reconciliation and maintenance of General Ledger accounts.
- ensure that all other statutory and regulatory reports are completed and filed as required.
- review local accounts payable/receivable reports and ensure that payments/receipts are made on a timely basis.
- investigate and settle complaints from suppliers relating to the non-payment of invoices.
- ensure that all necessary documentation being submitted is accurate and done on a timely basis.
- perform other related duties as required by Directors and/or Financial Controller.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Receipt of final audited accounts within 90 days from financial year end.
- Zero complaints from management and staff regarding response to queries.
- Completion of subsidiaries’ accounts within 5-working days of the end of the month.
- Completion of group accounts within 12-working days of the end of the month.
- Compliance with IFRS for SMES
- Achievement of reporting deadlines
- Zero penalties for late filing of statutory returns, taxes, etc.
- Zero Management Letter issues by external Auditors
- Proper file management – soft & papter

- Knowledge of advanced cost and financial analysis principles and techniques.
The Group Accountant must be able to visit subsidiaries (local and foreign) to perform accounting related work as instructed by the Financial Controller.
The Group Accountant must be able to work additional hours during peak periods to ensure that reporting deadlines are met.
