The Group Accountant is responsible for overseeing the general accounting function, which includes tasks such as preparing management accounts, journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, bank reconciliations, monthly closings, and providing support to the executive team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES
1. Perform monthly closings and prepare financial statements.
2. Prepare journal entries.
3. Conduct general ledger operations.
4. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts including Accounts payables and Accounts receivables.
5. Provide account analysis as required.
6. Assist with year-end closings.
7. Supervise and review purchasing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
8. Prepare tax computations and returns.
9. Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts.
10. Support payroll administration.
11. Monitor and resolve bank issues, including fee anomalies and check differences.
12. Review general ledger reconciliations, including daily treasury management.
13. Review and update expense reports.
14. Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
15. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
16. Perform any other duty or role related to the operations within the group.
QUALIFICATIONS
ACCA Qualified
EXPERIENCE
1. A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, inclusive of management accounts preparation
2. A minimum of 3 years supervising staff
