The Group Accountant is responsible for overseeing and consolidating the financial operations across all territories—Trinidad & Tobago, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and Jamaica.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the Accounts Department and ensure all staff in each location complete their tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Coordinate and review monthly financial statements from St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and Jamaica, ensuring accuracy and consistency across regions.
Consolidate group financial statements including profit & loss, balance sheet, variance analysis, and other financial reports.
Analyse group-wide financial trends and recommend strategies for cost efficiency and revenue growth.
Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of intercompany transactions and reconciliations across regions.
Maintain oversight of all accounting systems and records in all countries, including revenue, expenditure, fixed assets, depreciation, purchasing, and inventory.
Manage month-end and year-end accounting close across all territories.
Monitor and analyse sales and profitability in each location, supporting management with regional and consolidated financial insights.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and tax requirements in each jurisdiction.
Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings (e.g. VAT, Corporation Tax) for St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Liaise with financial institutions and auditors across all countries to ensure smooth banking operations and audit processes.
Support annual audits and ensure all required documentation is submitted on time for each territory.
Address and resolve all vendor and customer queries across the group in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal departments, regional managers, and stores to support financial needs and compliance.
Any other duties as required by management.
Educational Requirements
ACCA Qualification is an asset
Professional Accounting Qualification or First Degree in Accounting
Experience Requirements
5+ years of accounting experience, including group or multi-country management
Strong knowledge of IFRS
Familiarity with tax and regulatory environments in St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago
Skills and Attributes
Strong MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
