Groundsman/Handyman

The Groundsman/Handyman is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general clean-up duties, including picking up litter, raking leaves, and clearing walkways.
• Maintain and care for lawns, gardens, trees, and trimming, pruning, watering, and fertilizing.
• Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, circular saw, and hedge cutters safely and efficiently.
• Assist in the planting of flowers, and trees as directed.
• Monitor outdoor areas for safety hazards and report or address them promptly.
• Support seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, or debris clean-up.
• Assist with basic repairs to outdoor structures like fences, benches, and signs.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Work closely with other maintenance staff as needed.
• Any other assigned duty.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, and write
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance would be an asset
• Physically fit, and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail
• Must possess the ability to work independently
• Must be team oriented

Working Conditions:

• Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• May be required to work on weekends, holidays, or early mornings depending on the need
• Frequent lifting, bending, and physical demands.
