Grounds Keeper

An industry-leading organization is in search of a qualified Safety Manager to champion its safety framework and safeguard alignment with worldwide regulatory standards.

Role Overview

A reputable organization invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the role of Grounds Keeper. This position is responsible for the upkeep, cleanliness, and general presentation of the organization’s compound to ensure a safe, orderly, and professional environment at all times.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall cleanliness, appearance, and presentation of the external compound, including grounds, sidewalks, entrances, drains, and perimeter spaces.
• Conduct daily sweeping, clearing, and removal of litter, debris, and waste from all outdoor areas to ensure the premises remain clean and hazard-free.
• Perform landscaping duties including grass cutting, trimming, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general beautification of green spaces.
• Ensure plant beds, trees, hedges, shrubs, and decorative landscaping areas are maintained to acceptable standards.
• Assist with clearing drains, gutters, and water pathways to prevent flooding, mosquito breeding, and unsanitary conditions.
• Conduct routine checks of the compound and report any hazards, safety concerns, damage, or suspicious activity to the Supervisor/Manager immediately.
• Operate grounds equipment and tools safely (e.g., lawn mower, weed whacker, rake, shovel, broom, pressure hose, etc.).
• Assist with minor general maintenance tasks as assigned (e.g., basic cleaning, painting touch-ups, moving items, washing exterior surfaces).

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, outdoor janitorial services, or a related field.

• Must be reliable, punctual, and highly responsible.

• Physically capable of carrying out outdoor labour and maintenance tasks.

• Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.

• Experience using landscaping/grounds equipment is an asset.
