Global Medical Response of Trinidad and Tobago Ltd

Global Medical Response of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (GMRTT) was created specifically for the purpose of improving the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system of Trinidad.  In early 2005, the Ministry of Health of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago issued a tender to solicit proposals for the Management and Administration of the Emergency Ambulance Service of Trinidad.  Amalgamated Security Services Limited (ASSL), a leading Trinidadian security services firm and American Medical Response (AMR), the largest provider of ambulance and EMS in North America, created a joint venture corporation to propose a comprehensive EMS solution for Trinidad.  GMRTT was born out of the desire for ASSL and AMR to bring world class, high performance EMS to Trinidad.  By combining the resources of these two industry leaders, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago can be assured that EMS services are seamlessly implemented under the current system design, and that the transition to a high performance EMS system is effectively accomplished on an accelerated basis. 

Global Medical Response, Inc. is a subsidiary of American Medical Response, Inc., the largest and most respected emergency medical services organization in the United States.  American Medical Response responds to approximately 4 million medical transportation service requests annually and manages more high performance ambulance systems than any other organization in the world.  Global Medical Response, Inc. was formed recently in response to a world-wide demand for American Medical Response’s expertise, and is the subsidiary that will oversee all operations outside the United States.

On October 1, 2005, GMRTT assumed control of the Trinidad EMS system.  Since that time, GMRTT has brought steadfast and marked improvement to EMS in Trinidad.  Using systems, technologies, processes, and career EMS experts from the United States, and combining these strengths with dedicated and experienced Trinidad Nationals, GMRTT has quickly formed a high caliber team of leaders, clinical care providers and support personnel.  As a national service, EMS in Trinidad is in its mere infancy.  However, with hundreds of years of collective service providing high performance EMS and ambulance service to over 250 communities in the United States, and with the support of an established, stable and respected local company, GMRTT and its parent companies are uniquely poised to deliver high performance EMS to Trinidad.
