Necker Island is seeking a General Technician to support the Engineering team in maintaining electrical, HVAC, and renewable energy systems. The role ensures safe, efficient operations through maintenance, service response, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial electrical and/or HVAC maintenance
Qualified Electrician or equivalent certification (additional certifications an advantage)
Strong knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems, including advanced fault finding
Experience troubleshooting 480v systems, switchgear, PLCs, relays, and extra-low-voltage systems
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
Knowledge of renewable energy systems is an advantage
Strong communication skills
Valid BVI driver’s licence or ability to obtain one during probation

Key Responsibilities
Respond to service calls from departments across the island
Carry out scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and HVAC systems
Monitor and maintain electrical systems, switchgear, RO plant systems, battery enclosures, and wind turbines
Maintain and repair resort appliances and equipment
Service fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and pool dosing equipment
Perform routine checks on lighting, HVAC, fire alarms, and water systems
Maintain renewable energy infrastructure, including corrosion control
Conduct PAT testing and thermal scanning as scheduled
Work closely with the Engineering team on troubleshooting and repairs
Complete job-related training as required
Provide overnight island coverage as scheduled and accommodate last-minute schedule changes
