Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
    GENERAL MANAGER, SECONDARY AND TERTIARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES
The incumbent is responsible for planning, organising, directing the Secondary and Tertiary Care initiatives, and ensure the availability exists for all logistical and technical resources support required for the efficient and effective delivery of Secondary and Tertiary Care at the various Clusters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Organise, plan and direct all secondary and tertiary care delivery and public health activities under the purview of the Authority, including all Secondary and Tertiary Care.
- Assume responsibility with other RHA Managers and the Chief Executive Officer for the general development and management of the Authority.
- Assist in the formulation of policies for Secondary and Tertiary Health Care Services.
- Prepare and deliver lectures on Secondary and Tertiary health care matters.
- Consult and advise local groups, lay and professional organisations and individuals.
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategic clinical plans.
- Liaise with the Public Health Observatory Unit to facilitate the evaluation of Healthcare Programmes and projects implemented.
- Implement an integrated healthcare approach in the provision of health care services.
- Liaise with other external bodies to facilitate the implementation of healthcare programmes and projects.
- Establish priorities and controls, and organise and manage resources for the successful delivery of secondary and tertiary health care service delivery.
- Supervise the operations of allied healthcare services.
- Develop and present the annual budget for Secondary and Tertiary Care services.
- Compile statistical reports and other performance metrics as required.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on the manpower needs for the Units, and participate in Human Resource Development Planning.
- Represent the NCRHA in meetings with local, regional, governmental and international bodies as required.
- Maximise the involvement of the community and voluntary organisations in the formulation and implementation of plans for the delivery of healthcare.
- Establish standards and monitor the performance of Heads of Units.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the appropriate organisational relationship.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- Postgraduate medical specialist qualifications.
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience as a Senior Medical Officer
- Minimum of five (5) years postgraduate experience
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago.
- A Masters in Business Administration or a Masters in Health Administration will be asset.
* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed program is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago. *
