Our Client, Paria Fuel Trading Company (Paria), is currently seeking to recruit a seasoned individual with experience in the trading of petroleum products, bunkering, terminal management, and marine operations to fill the position of General Manager (GM). The GM reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for strategic direction and planning, providing effective leadership and managing the technical components of the organisation, with a strong focus on safety, environmental standards, reliability, quality, delivery, margin optimisation, and cost control.
The incumbent will be a proven leader with the capacity to drive transformation and implement best practices to expand Paria’s footprint in bunkering and the upgrading of the organisation’s onshore and offshore facilities. He/she must have the commercial acumen to lead on business opportunities for the terminal operations, support continued expansion into regional markets, and address aging assets whilst delivering growth in financial operating performance.
The preferred candidate will play a leading role with investors, customers, government and trade agencies, and maintain strategic relationships with all stakeholders and business alliances. The incumbent should have significant experience in general management and the ability to champion a culture of continuous performance improvement and promote a learning environment.
Applicants should hold a Graduate degree in engineering/finance/economics/business; an MBA would be an asset. Ideally, he/she will be an accomplished general manager with a minimum of 20 years’ progressive management experience in the oil and gas industry. In addition, applicants should demonstrate success in negotiating with stakeholders, including policy negotiations, which have delivered high-value outcomes for the company. Experience managing all risks, including reputational risk, and collaborating with Boards of Directors would be preferred.
