Our client, Jamaica Mortgage Bank, is seeking an outstanding, forward-thinking General Manager to provide the strategic leadership necessary to lead its future growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Board, delivers effective strategic leadership by shaping the organisational vision and implementing business strategies that drive operational excellence through:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the organization and ensures the effective implementation of strategies as determined by the Board.
- Managing risk and taking action to sustain profitability.
- Awareness of industry forces, regulatory developments, and other governmental reporting requirements.
- Initiating a focused approach to secure low-cost funding and handle financial resources efficiently, aiming to increase returns and reduce risks.
- Supporting the Board in executing its governance responsibilities by ensuring that decisions essential to the effective operation of the organisation are made and clearly communicated to staff.
- Building and managing key external partnerships; maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and government entities.
Preferred Profile
- Master of Science degree in Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis in Finance, Business or Strategic Management or equivalent professional qualification.
- At least (10) years' experience of which 8 years should be at the head of a similar organisation.
- A confident communicator with unquestioned integrity, excellent listening skills and sound judgment.
- Prior experience in Corporate Banking, Credit and Operations would be an asset.
- An astute leader who is responsive, decisive and composed working under pressure.
- Highly responsive to issues, with sound leadership skills.
