The General Manager:

Oversees the daily business and administrative operations, including staff supervision, financial management, patient scheduling, and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.

Plays a vital role in keeping the practice efficient, and profitable, ensuring the practice maintains its reputation and delivers consistent patient care. Is the point of contact for the external accountant/auditor, vendors, and patients.

Job Description:

Human Resource Management

  • Recruit, hire and ensure the training of new employees.
  • Maintains confidential records of new hire, compose offer, confirmation, termination and job letters.
  • Manage personnel issues.
  • Resolve patient issues quickly and professionally.

Accounts

  • Maintain Fixed Assets Register
  • Work with Insurance Coordinator to ensure insurance receivables remain current
  • Manage accounts payables
    • Check invoices for accuracy
    • QuickBooks data entry
    • Cheque disbursement
    • Maintain inventory records
    • Maintain contract files and ensure work is completed before making payments (repairs to building, equipment and plant rental etc.)

Pathology

  • Ensure biopsies are correctly labelled and recorded
  • Dispatch specimen and properly record path request and biopsy report
  • Check and respond to emails
  • Ensure follow-up appointments are set
  • Ensure surgeons receive emails and patients are informed in a timely manner

 

All applicants must

  • Have at least 3 years’ professional work experience
  • Possess excellent organization and communication skills
  • Be willing to drive to locations outside of Kingston
  • Have good oral and written skills
  • Understand the importance of each role in the office
  • Be proficient in the use of accounting software applications
  • Work well in teams
  • Be willing to perform other duties assigned
