Our client, an established insurance brokerage, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead its turnaround and drive profitability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for revitalizing operations, enhancing market presence, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue and restore profitability.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market share.
  • Strengthen and maintain relationships with clients, insurers, and key stakeholders.
  • Enhance brand positioning and establish the company as a market leader.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify risks and opportunities.

Operational Efficiency & Service Delivery

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and high service standards.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Set and monitor performance metrics across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Develop and manage budgets to support financial stability.
  • Analyze financial reports to guide strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with insurers to secure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Identify and mitigate business risks, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve business goals.
  • Improve team competencies through training and professional development.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Establish and uphold HR policies that support a strong workplace culture.

Authority & Decision-Making

  • Approves operational and administrative changes in line with company policies.
  • Recommends financial decisions, including credit approvals beyond 30 days.
  • Authorizes emergency expenditures up to a defined limit.
  • Has input in the recruitment, performance management, and dismissal of staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACII, FCII, AIIC, CPCU) are a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of senior management experience in the insurance industry.
  • Proven track record in business turnaround and growth strategies.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Performance Expectations

  • Achieve at least 10% annual revenue growth beyond inflation.
  • Strengthen client relationships and improve customer retention rates.
