GENERAL MANAGER COOP'S CAR CARE JOB SUMMARY
Own full P&L performance and multi-site execution for Coop's Car Care. Deliver reliable lane uptime, consistent service quality, strong customer experience, disciplined cost control, and a high-performing team across all seven locations.
Key responsibilities
P&L ownership and financial performance
- Deliver revenue, margin, and profit targets; control operating expenses (repairs, consumables, payroll, utilities where applicable).
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, variance explanations, and corrective actions.
- Protect margin through disciplined purchasing, inventory control, and productivity management.
Multi-site operational execution
- Standardize and enforce SOPs across Wash, Dry, Interior, and Quality sections; ensure consistent customer experience.
- Set staffing models and shift planning aligned to demand; improve throughput and reduce wait times.
- Implement daily/weekly operational audits and corrective action plans per site.
Maintenance reliability and asset uptime (CMMS-led)
- Own preventive maintenance compliance and work order discipline using the CMMS.
- Reduce lane downtime through root cause analysis, spare readiness, and training to prevent avoidable damage.
- Maintain asset and repair history, including costs, downtime, and recurring failure modes.
Inventory and consumables control
- Implement location min/max controls for critical spares (hoses, unloaders, guns, vacuum parts) and consumables (microfibers, chemicals where applicable).
- Ensure all parts usage is logged; prevent leakage and unauthorized transfers between locations.
- Coordinate replenishment requests and approve orders within budget and controls.
People leadership and culture
- Lead, coach, and develop site leaders (location managers/supervisors); build a reliable leadership bench.
- Enforce performance management standards: attendance, quality, safety, and equipment care.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and refresher training are completed and tracked.
Quality, safety, and compliance
- Drive quality checks and reduce rework/complaints through training and inspection discipline.
- Ensure safety compliance, incident reporting, and corrective actions at all locations.
Qualifications and experience
- 10+ years operations leadership, preferably multi-site service/retail operations.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership with strong cost control discipline.
- Strong maintenance reliability mindset and inventory control competence.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and managers (320-employee scale).
