We are seeking a General Assistant / Courier who will provide excellent daily maintenance and support for the upkeeping our office spaces as well as provide a reliable Courier service as and when needed for the office.

GENERAL ASSISTANT / COURIER

We are seeking a General Assistant / Courier who will provide excellent daily maintenance and support for the upkeeping our office spaces as well as provide a reliable Courier service as and when needed for the office.  

KEY DUTIES

Included among the duties and responsibilities are: -

  • Ensure all office spaces, meeting rooms and common areas are upkept, maintained and sanitized on a daily basis.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations when handling/storing office cleaning supplies and ensure the use of appropriate safety PPE to prevent accidents and incidents in accordance with safety standards and guidelines.
  • Adequately replenish all consumables in meeting rooms and ensure supplies levels are maintained for all tea/coffee stations.
  • Monitor and track stationery and other office supplies as well as assist with sourcing and purchasing of Company stationery, consumables and cleaning supplies.
  • Identify, report and follow-up on any damages to the office Facilities including broken washrooms items, faulty lights, leaking taps, and such like and update the facilities log, in addition to coordinating support with our contractual services for pest control.
  • Handle the office Mail, Deliveries & Records Management.
  • Provide and maintain excellent communication protocols, including maintaining confidentiality when acting on behalf of Company, handling guests and updating internal records of all deliveries or collections.
  • Receive, sort and deliver packages/ mail / intercompany mail, external mail from clients / customers / agents / statutory and regulatory bodies and other business entities.
  • Collect and deliver company products to their assigned destinations in accordance with specified timelines.
  • Handle petty cash and cheque payment transactions as and when required.
  • Ensure the Company-owned vehicle is used and maintained in accordance with established standards.
  • Coordinate and assist as and when required, the pick-ups / drop-offs of meals catering arrangements when  hosting foreign or local guests attending meetings and or visiting the Company.

 

DESIRED BACKGROUND/SKILLS

The incumbent should possess:

  • 5 CXC O’Level passes including Mathematics and English.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 3 or above) with a minimum five (5) years’ professional driving experience.
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Office Suite and ability to draft correspondence.
  • Defensive driving certification
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Organized and can work with little supervision.
