General Accounting Officer Job Summary/Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detailed oriented and experienced General Accounting Officer to join our Finance team. The General accounting Officer will provide technical support, which includes but not limited to assisting with the financial month end close process, ensuring the Company’s financial reporting time lines are met and also assist with ensuring all day to day accounting obligations are met.
Duties Include:
· Preparation of monthly reconciliations as assigned, which includes investigating and providing resolution for discrepancies identified.
· Detailed reconciliation of the company’s bank account on a monthly basis.
· Maintain assigned GL accounts. Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries ensuring proper classifications and accuracy.
· Monthly expense variance analysis for assigned accounts.
· Assist with the preparation of post financial close reports and other requirements
· Ensuring compliance with organizational policies by assisting with developing and maintaining respective processes and procedures.
· Preparation and submission of assigned reports in adherence with specified timelines. These include but not limited to Weekly Cash flow report, Travel tracker and Analysis report, Credit card spend report etc.
· Generating purchase orders based on approved purchase requisitions on a timely basis.
· Ensuring goods/services are delivered timely based on Purchase Orders.
· Receiving all deliveries in the system based on delivery note and relevant vendor invoice.
· Assist with Finance related projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· 3+ years of accounting experience in a similar role
· Proficiency using large accounting software
· Competency in Microsoft office suite
· Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
· Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
· High level of integrity
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
