The Team Leader will ensure that the grocery department is in presentable condition at all times, while ensuring customer service is the number one priority.
Essential Job Functions
Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Foods policies and procedures.
Excellent ability to provide high-level customer service and to motivate others to do the same.
Must be able to communicate instructions and directions clearly and effectively.
Demonstrate skills at ordering and merchandising grocery products on a daily basis and to highlight seasonal trends and special promotions to maximize sales and profits.
Monitor and inspect all goods to verify whether or not they should be disposed of.
Ensure that proper pricing is in place as it relates to shelf edges.
Be vigilant to products expiration dates.
Supervise and provide relevant training for all staff members within the department.
Ensure that all staff members on the shop floor are occupied and dressed appropriately, inclusive of nametags.
Ensure that direct reports maintain visibility on the shop floor within the department at all times.
Prepare performance criteria/objectives at the beginning and end of each appraisal period
Education and Experience
Diploma in Business Management
Certificate in Supervisor Management from a reputable institution
3 – 5 years of supervisory experience
Skill and Competencies
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong customer service and selling skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Working knowledge of inventory management
Working knowledge of Public Health Regulations
Emergency management skills
Good dispute resolution and negotiation skills
Basic knowledge of computer application
