IMPERIAL OPTICAL JAMAICA
Our innovative and well established company has operated in Jamaica for over 90 years and is a part of a larger group with a team of professionals (ophthalmologists, optometrists and optical dispensers) providing service to the Jamaican public in our 18 locations island-wide.
We serve both the busy urban communities as well as a large rural area from our well-appointed stores. We also have a state of the art laboratory offering a wide range of lens options including our own brand of digital lenses and our own anti-reflective coating.
We are seeking a fully qualified and GOC Registered Optometrist to join our team:
Optometrist Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct eye exams using optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
- Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
- Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
- Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding vision and optical issues.
- Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
Optometrist Qualifications/Skills:
- Applied understanding of general principles of optometry and best practices for the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disorders and conditions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to patients of diverse backgrounds
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- General computer proficiency
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and multitasking ability
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program.
- General Optical Council (GOC) registration is essential.
- Two-plus years of optometrist experience preferred
