About the Role

As a Fraud Specialist within our Personal Loans Customer Experience team, you’ll play a key role in protecting both our members and our business by identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activity. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with a detective-like mindset and a passion for creating a secure and positive customer experience.

You’ll work primarily with non-voice transactions, reviewing flagged loan applications, performing detailed fraud analysis, and ensuring timely and accurate resolution in accordance with our service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review loan applications flagged by automated fraud monitoring systems at the underwriting stage of the applicant funnel.
• Conduct in-depth fraud reviews by analyzing and interpreting various types of credit and documentation to assess fraud risks.
• Perform verification calls with potential victims of identity theft to confirm legitimacy and protect customer data.
• Monitor real-time fraud detection queues and analyze high-risk applications to identify suspicious activity.
• Report suspicious or unusual behavior to our bank partners and maintain accurate documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
• Manage and resolve high-risk applications within established service level agreements to minimize potential losses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve fraud detection processes and maintain a positive member experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fraud experience in a financial institution (required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on identifying root causes and resolving complex issues.
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving processes and technology.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for fraud prevention.
• Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
• Ability to make logical decisions based on partial data within tight deadlines.
• A collaborative team player who can also operate independently.
• Minimum of 3 CXC passes, including English A
