The JESS Officer - Foundation reports primarily to the JESS Firmwide Costs (FWC) Manager but will also take direction from other Finance and Accounting Client team members who are accountable for supported work.
OVERVIEW:
KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named “Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)” operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide back-office support to its member firm KPMG United States (“the Client”). The Clients’ Finance & Accounting function is expanding operations at JESS to support the Firmwide cost (FWC) process area. Team members within the delivery center work with Client’s stakeholders under a team extension model to support Client’s back-office operations.
The Clients’ Firmwide Cost (FWC) process area performs tasks related to profit center analysis and reconciliations, preparing and processing journal entries, inter and intra firm billings, and preparation of monthly financial statements
JOB SUMMARY:
The JESS Firmwide Costs (FWC) resources are responsible for performing various tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures provided by the Clients’ Firmwide Costs (FWC) team including but not limited to analysis of the Client’s expenses and preparation of the associated journals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Delivery
- Prepare simple to moderate reports and analysis of various Profit Centers, internal codes, general ledger accounts and/or other Client data.
- Support data entry and maintenance for Major Gifts and Matching Gifts in Salesforce including pipeline and contacts
- Perform vetting, documentation collection for review, administrative support diligence and associated activities required to assess Foundation funding opportunities to minimize risk
- Support grants document retention and document storage and document updates (logo agreement updates, banking account changes for ACH, contact info updates)
- Support in the payments process including vendor onboarding, prepping payments, monitoring the status of onboarding /payments
- Support organizational priorities through ad-hoc requests related to reporting, major and matching gift activities, board meeting preparation, and other project needs.
- Draft, edit and manage renewals of grant, sponsorship and contribution paperwork, logo agreements, and other correspondence with nonprofits
- Manage Foundation mailbox with standard messaging and flag important items for Malika and Cierra to action
- Create/maintain the assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that all changes are timely updated
- Interact with other departments within JESS to ensure that assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately
- Participate in routine Root Cause Analysis discussions to identify and implement improvements with a view to increase accuracy
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university required
- One or two years of accounting experience
- Ability to take guidance from Management and higher levels regarding account processes and procedures
- Basic accounting knowledge
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Our team is using a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between working from home in Jamaica and being in the office. You will be required to spend a minimum of five days each month in the office, though this number may increase depending on business needs.
- Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities
- May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
