Forklift Operator

Forklift Operator drives forklifts to shift and stack containers, crates of goods in areas. To offload containers on directive.to pick assigned orders and stage for final check off and delivery.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for driving forklifts to shift and stack containers and crates of goods in the designated areas, ensuring that products meet the required specifications. It also includes ensuring that the efforts support the Company's overall strategy and goals

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently operate the forklift machine in a safe manner

• Lift, stack and un-stack articles and materials using forklift
• Move raw materials and finished goods to processing or to the dispatch areas within the factories
• Ensure goods are stored properly within the assigned areas of the warehouse for easy location when picking orders
• Load transport vehicles, making sure loads are evenly and securely placed
• Keep an accurate log of daily operations conducted and submit within a timely manner
• Follow instructions outlined in the work order documents to determine which materials or containers are to be moved
• Report any defects and unusual sounds observed within the machine to Shift Supervisor and or Lead Mechanic
• Operate in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
• Consistently maintain a Safe and Healthy Work Environment in accordance with GMP standards
• Attend training sessions scheduled by the company
• Any other duty assigned within the scope of the job

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Certification from NTEI or technical institution or minimum five (5) passes in CSEC including English A and Mathematics/Principles of Accounts
• Two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
• Possess a valid Forklift Operating License
• Excellent hand-eye coordination with high proficiency in operating technical machinery
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work on own initiative and as a part of a team
• Good organization and time management skills
