Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts to move, organize, load, and offload goods within the warehouse and factory areas, while ensuring full compliance with all safety, operational, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure forklifts are operated in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including equipment and assigned work areas.
• Lift, stack, and unstack materials using forklifts.
• Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated processing or dispatch areas.
• Store goods in the correct locations to ensure easy identification and retrieval.
• Load transport vehicles, ensuring all loads are evenly balanced and securely placed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations.
• Read work orders or follow instructions to determine materials or containers to be moved.
• Report defects, unusual sounds, or operational issues to the Team Leader and/or Lead Mechanic.
• Complete all required logs accurately and in a timely manner.
• Operate in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, FSSC 22000 standards, regulatory requirements, and other applicable third-party management systems (e.g., Coca-Cola standards).
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment at all times.
• Support Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004 standards.
• Attend company-scheduled training sessions and meetings.
• Perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the role.

Job Specifications / Competencies

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Minimum of three (3) CSEC passes, including Mathematics/Principles of Accounts and English A, with at least one (1) year of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of staff.
• High level of confidentiality, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Possession of a valid Forklift Operator’s License.
• Ability to work independently using initiative.
• Highly organized and capable of working under pressure.
