Forklift Driver/Warehouse Attendant

Seeking a reliable Forklift Operator / Warehouse Attendant to safely operate forklifts in warehouse and freezer environments. Responsible for timely movement, storage of goods, and maintaining safety, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Warehouse Attendant to join our team. This role is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of forklift trucks within warehouse and freezer environments, ensuring timely movement and storage of goods while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.

 Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and stage goods.
• Retrieve customer orders from freezers promptly and accurately.
• Maintain forklifts and freezer equipment in safe, working condition.
• Transport palletized goods throughout the warehouse and storage areas.
• Perform picking, receiving, and storing duties in line with customer service standards.
• Ensure proper stacking and storage of merchandise in designated areas.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and minor maintenance checks.
• Comply with OSHA standards and company safety protocols.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free.
• Maintain inventory control, stock rotation, and accurate record-keeping.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with tidying and stacking empty pallets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 Required Skills & Attributes

• Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of forklift safety, load limits, and navigating confined spaces.
• Good Judgment: Ability to assess load dimensions and weight, maneuver safely, and respond quickly to potential hazards.
• Communication: Effective communication with team members, supervisors, suppliers, and customers.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in varying environments, including outdoor and freezer conditions.
• Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with warehouse staff and delivery drivers.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of forklift maintenance and ability to identify equipment issues.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate weights and distances accurately.

 Qualifications

• CXC passes in Mathematics and English.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Experience with food handling and safety standards.
