The Foreign Exchange Trader will oversee and complete foreign currency trades on foreign exchanges and in the market.

 

 

The Foreign Exchange Trader will oversee and complete foreign currency trades on foreign exchanges and in the market.

What you will do?

  • Trade foreign currencies such as $US, $CA, GBP, EURO, $CYMN, etc, within Cambio license stipulations.
  • Contact buyers and sellers of foreign exchange and soliciting business.
  • Prepare weekly review of FX Surrendering statements to BOJ. 
  • Analyse and identify factors that have implications on the prices of currencies traded
  • Prepare schedules of the approved FX rates for the primary traded currencies; rates for the general market and special rates.
  • Prepare Trade Advice for each trade for processing by designated personnel in duly approved as per Cambio Policy
  • Establish rates for each transaction based on current market rates, size of transaction involved and bank's balances available to fund customer requirements. 
  • Ensure that all FX Cambio transactions conducted by the credit union is reported on the BOJ’s FXTP as required by the regulators.
  • Analyse daily reconciliation to ensure that the levels within the bank account is sufficient to carry out trading.Weekly review of FX Surrender amounts for the various PINS for confirmation with the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ). 

 

Specific Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of quantitative economic analysis and their fundamental applicability.
  • Knowledge of the macroeconomic variables and their implications on the foreign exchange market.
  • Knowledge of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act
  • Knowledge of forecasting techniques and trend analysis
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • First Degree in Business Administration with a major in any of the following areas: Accounting Banking, Finance or Economics from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in foreign exchange trading
  • Jamaica Securities Course-Dealer License is advantageous.
