Fleet Stores Clerk

The Fleet Stores Clerk is responsible for ensuring that mechanics have timely access to the correct parts, tools and equipment required for maintenance and repairs.

Job Summary

The job incumbent is responsible for ensuring that mechanics have timely access to the correct parts, tools and equipment required for maintenance and repairs. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing workflow within the department and reducing equipment downtime ultimately contributing to improved operational efficiency and customer service.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack and record mechanical supplies, equipment and tools.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine spot checks.
• Assist with issuing and reordering parts to prevent downtime.
• Perform fuel station duties, including recording and monitoring fuel usage.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe storeroom and garage area.
• Support opening and closing of the compound and adhere to all safety and operational procedures.

Requirements

• A minimum of a secondary school education.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in inventory management, storekeeping, stockroom operation and bookkeeping.
• Experience operating various motor vehicles, including light delivery vehicles is required. 
• Experience using materials’ handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, is preferred.
