Establish and implement an efficient vehicle management plan, including maintenance, servicing and repairs of motor vehicles.

Fleet Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

Fleet Management:

  • Create and coordinate a vehicle maintenance service schedule by type of vehicle and mileage
  • Using an Information System, set notifications/reminders on vehicle maintenance schedule, ensuring that the required personnel are notified in a timely manner
  • Create a vehicle service guide/checklist, which staff and contractors must follow
  • Audit vehicles pre-service and post-service to ensure adherence to service plan and report failures where required
  • Attend to vehicle defects emanating from the Driver vehicle inspection reports
  • Attend to vehicle damage resulting from accidents
  • After service/repair, test drive vehicles before it is returned to Drivers
  • Regularly, inspect vehicle body, paint, signage and upholstery and attend to repair works as needed
  • Ensure all motor vehicle insurance claims are done timely and establish a monitoring procedure
  • Update and maintain fleet management database, which includes information on vehicle service, repairs, inspection, motor vehicle insurance etc.
  • Assist with the procurement of vehicles and spare parts

Contractor Management:

In keeping with ASSL’s approved Contractor Management procedures:

  • Regularly review and assess contractor quality of work
  • Negotiate price and establish completion timelines for service or repairs
  • Sign off on contractor invoices and ensure payments are made
  • Host annual contractor meetings
  • Ensure only pre-approved contractors are utilized
  • Review annually approved contractor listing and update as required

Reports:

  • Provide monthly reports to CEO/COO including challenges and recommendations for improvement.

 

Qulaifications & Experience Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field.
  • Qualifications from a certified trade school for automotive mechanics
  • Minimum Five (5) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance, repair and service of gas and/or diesel motorized equipment and/or automotive related functions (e.g. parts, fabrication, etc.)
  • Two (2) years in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Defensive Driving Instructor Certification would be an asset
