Experienced Financial Controller to lead a team in person in accounting operations, regulatory reporting, and financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the team in its management and accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and the timely preparation of monthly financial statements and annual audit exercise.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Will need to ensure compliance with statutory accounting and Insurance regulatory body (Financial Services Commission).
  • Strategic Planning: Will need to oversee budget preparation, investment, expense management, and variance analysis to support company goals.
  • Internal Controls: Will need to develop, implement and oversee financial control systems to manage assets/liabilities and mitigate risk.
  • Team Leadership: Will need to guide and mentor accounting staff to achieve and maintain high performance and meet regular deadlines.

 Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5-10+ years of senior-level experience (Insurance industry would be an asset).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA/ACCA qualification required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software.

 Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and investment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with business partners, auditors, and senior leadership.
