About the Role

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading and overseeing all accounting and financial operations across the organization, ensuring robust financial systems and controls are established and maintained.

The role includes delivering strategic financial insights to support executive decision making, while managing key functions such as budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and control processes. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information, uphold compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and contribute to safeguarding the organization’s overall financial stability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all core accounting functions, including financial reporting, cost control, and revenue monitoring
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Coordinate and lead audit preparations, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
  • Enhance financial systems, internal controls, and operational processes to improve efficiency and compliance
  • Drive financial performance across multiple projects through effective budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support key strategic initiatives, financial negotiations, and risk management efforts
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting on financial and operational performance metrics
  • Develop and maintain cash flow projections and comprehensive financial planning models
  • Monitor receivables, cash flow, and the overall financial position of the organization
  • Review and authorize payments and financial transactions within approved limits
  • Provide strong leadership to the Finance team, including performance management, coaching, and development
  • Deliver clear and insightful financial reports to senior management

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, with at least 2 years at a management level
  • Experience in a construction or project based environment is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and accounting software
