The incumbent leads the Finance function, overseeing financial reporting in line with IFRS, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. It ensures accuracy, compliance, and the application of sound financial management practices within the industry.

Reporting to the GKFG Divisional Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent is responsible for leading the Finance function by directing the financial reporting of the Company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Group’s accounting policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirement and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. The incumbent will assume a pivotal leadership position with responsibilities encompassing strategic decision support for the Managing Director, Divisional Chief Financial Officer, and their respective management teams. This involves delivering critical financial insights, operational analytics, and fostering a culture of accountability within the business. Additionally, this role will involve people leadership, guiding and developing team members to enhance their effectiveness.

Our ideal candidate is an exceptionally detail oriented and organized individual, with a high level of confidentiality, honesty, integrity, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. At minimum, applicants should possess the following:

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, ACCA, MSc. Accounting, or equivalent
  • At least five (5) or more years’ post qualification working experience in financial management and control preferably including insurance, banking or financial services at a senior level
  • Detail oriented and with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to coach, mentor and motivate teams
  • Good time management and the ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge and proven ability in the use of financial software applications
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Working knowledge of computing and communications technology applications
  • Well-developed public speaking and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite [EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint etc.]
