Financial Controller

The Financial Controller is required to support the Chief Financial Officer in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and efficiency of the Company’s financial operations.

The Financial Controller is primarily responsible for strengthening cost management, maintaining robust financial controls, and ensuring timely preparation of statutory and management reports.

The role oversees monthly financial closing activities, leads the coordination of external audits, manages tax compliance, and supports budgeting and forecasting processes. The Financial Controller will also perform feasibility studies for new projects or acquisitions, monitor product margins and recommend pricing adjustments to improve profitability.  

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform monthly accounting and financial statement closing processes
• Review monthly financial reports and prepare monthly variance analysis
• Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial reports
• Draft audited financial statements
• Conduct feasibility studies for potential acquisitions and project proposals
• Perform costing review, analyze and monitor product margins and recommend pricing changes
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasting
• Manage the calculation, reporting and payment of all company taxes in accordance with statutory deadlines
• Lead the coordination of the company’s annual external audit
• Prepare and submit financial reports to support compliance with banking covenants for Company credit facilities
• Review monthly payroll and file relevant statutory payments
• Identify weaknesses in controls, recommend corrective actions and implement risk-mitigation measures to minimize loss of inventory
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, including accounting, inventory management and procurement
• Any other related duties assigned

Education/Training & Experience

• ACCA/CPA or MSc. in accounting or equivalent qualifications
• At least five (5) years’ management experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Practical Audit Experience and statutory filing
