To assist with the efficient preparation of the Bank’s financial accounts and central bank reports within the required time frames. To support and assist the Senior Supervisor.

Financial Analyst – Republic Bank (Suriname) N.V.

Position level: PL 10-1

Key responsibilities:                

• To provide accurate and timely accounting information to Management and the Senior Supervisory Team for preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• To ensure accurate information is provided for financial reporting through accurate preparation of key accounting areas: These include but are not limited to preparing accurate supporting administration and reconciliations for the following statement of financial position accounts and their related profit and loss accounts: Loans and advances, customer deposits, investments, fixed assets, leases, accruals, prepayments, suspense accounts etc.
• To prepare accurate and timely reports to the Central Bank. Inclusive of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to the Central Bank.
• Ensure that journal entries are prepared and posted in a timely manner for the accounting areas assigned.
• Assist, manage & provide the Bank’s internal & external auditors with relevant information and documentation, including variance analysis, required for quarterly and year-end audits, and periodic internal audit reviews.
• To ensure adherence to the Bank’s Systems & Procedures and controls as well as International Accounting Standards.
• Provide assistance to the finance manager and senior supervisor as is necessary in the completion of departmental tasks.

General Qualifications/ Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Level 1 ACCA
• At least 3 years of professional level accounting experience in the banking or financial sector services industry
• Experience with preparing daily/ weekly/ monthly and quarterly Central Bank Reports.
• Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications.
• Experience interacting with internal and external auditors.
