Position Summary:
The Financial Accountant plays a vital role within the finance team, contributing to overall financial management and providing strong financial leadership. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable, payroll processing, daily financial entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. The Financial Accountant analyzes financial data and cost reports, performs audits, and supports internal controls to drive effective financial decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain operational and financial controls
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts
- Audit payroll and coordinate audit activities
- Maintain detailed and accurate cost records and prepare financial reports related to production, inventory, and variance analysis
- Implement and maintain internal audit controls to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness
- Collaborate with management to monitor financial performance against budgets and operational goals
- Review production costs and profitability and recommend improvements
- Participate in inventory analysis and reconciliations, ensuring accurate inventory valuation
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely and accurate transaction recording
- Assist in capital asset management and maintain fixed asset ledgers
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or ACCA qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management preferred
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
