Responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements, managing financial reporting and compliance requirements, supervising junior accounting staff, and maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, IAS, and Group accounting policies. 
  • Supervise and guide the Accounting Associate and other junior accounting staff, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with deadlines. 
  • Review general ledger balances, perform account reconciliations, and investigate variances to ensure financial data integrity. 
  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to reporting timelines. 
  • Prepare and submit tax filings and statutory returns (e.g., VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, NIS) in accordance with local legislation and deadlines. 
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with external/internal auditors. 
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow requirements, assist in treasury planning, and oversee bank reconciliations. 
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, preparing variance analysis reports and commentary to support business decision-making. 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting team members, including training, performance feedback, and development planning. 
  • Support the implementation and improvement of accounting systems, processes, and controls, identifying areas for operational efficiency. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, HR, and Commercial departments to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting. 
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for senior management and Group Finance to support strategic planning and performance monitoring. 
  • Perform any other job duties as required by the job function to support department goals and business operations. 

Formal Education: 

  • Qualified professional in ACCA / CIMA / CMA or equivalent
