Job Summary

Manage and execute the Duties of the Finance and Accounting Department to provide accurate, timely and concise quantitative financial information in the areas of cost controls, budget compilations, financial analysis, and accounting practices in order to facilitate sound decision making on behalf of the Company.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the Finance and Accounting department team to ensure the organization's financial strategy is implemented effectively, consistently and according to agreed guidelines
• Manage the Finance and Accounting functions in line with accounting principles and practices
• Manage the reporting function in line with company policies and practices
• Manage accounts payable; asset accounting and general ledger; VAT/Tax returns to comply with all relevant regulations, laws and standards
• Participate in the preparation of all financial reports and accounting statements to ensure they have been accurately prepared
• Provide technical expertise and advise on complex accounting issues to functional/operational managers in support of budget planning; understanding reports and compliance issues
• Prepare accounts for investments
• Ensure the Financial Reporting and accounting applications are maintained and all data is entered accurately as per the required standards
• Support and contribute to process re-engineering and optimization of all business processes in area of responsibility
• Participate in projects/initiatives as directed by the business
• Develop and maintain relationships with external consultants and advisors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
• Ensure Tax reviews and Audits and other compliance or regulatory matters are completed in a timely manner

Qualifications and Competencies

• Relevant Professional Tertiary Finance and Accounting Qualifications and Accreditation
• Working experience with One Stream and SAP applications would be an Asset
• Excellent Knowledge of Accounting standards
• 5 years’ experience in a relevant roles
• Good knowledge of local tax rules
• Team focused management style that fits into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong oral and written communications
