The Finance Officer plays a critical role in the strategic and operational financial management of the company.
The Finance Officer plays a critical role in the strategic and operational financial management of the company. The successful
candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations including budgeting, financial reporting, compliance,
payroll, bank settlements, and internal controls. This position requires a high level of integrity, financial acumen, and
leadership to support the company’s growth, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability. The Finance Officer will also
contribute to process improvement, change management initiatives, and system implementations aligned with the
organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and present timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with executive leadership.
• Oversee all aspects of payroll administration and bank settlements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and advise management on key financial matters.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP), and statutory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, solicitors, bankers, insurance brokers, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the finance team to drive high performance and accountability.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks while implementing cost reduction strategies and efficiency improvements.
• Contribute to and support change management initiatives and technology implementations related to finance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior finance or accounting role, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Proven understanding of IFRS, GAAP, taxation, and legal accounting standards.
• Demonstrated success in financial planning, systems implementation, risk management, and team leadership.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Change leadership capability with experience managing transitions, process improvements, and system upgrades.
• Strategic thinker with a resilient, adaptive mindset and the ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
• Prior experience overseeing IT finance functions would be considered an asset.
