We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Finance Division:

FINANCE MANAGER

Job Purpose:

To provide support to the Financial Controller by overseeing financial reporting, reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and key operational finance functions to ensure accuracy, strong financial controls, and regulatory compliance. The role also coordinates the budgeting process, supports treasury activities, and provides leadership to the accounting team, while driving continuous improvement in financial systems and processes to support effective decision-making.

 

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Financial Reporting

  • Supervises, coordinates, and assists with, where necessary, the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Produces weekly Finance KPI dashboards
  • Supervises, coordinates, and assists with the variance analyses for the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Prepares financial reporting packages for review by the Financial Controller
  • Reviews EVC computations monthly
  • Prepares pricing, profitability, and cost management initiatives as needed

Financial Control & Reconciliations

  • Ensures timely completion and review of all Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Reviews and clears bank reconciliations within established timelines as needed
  • Ensures supplier reconciliations are completed and discrepancies resolved
  • Approves appropriate adjusting entries
  • Ensures accurate expense allocations across Divisions

Cash Flow & Treasury Support

  • Reviews weekly cash flow forecasts for TTD, USD and EUR
  • Monitors upcoming financial obligations and funding requirements
  • Approves documentation to support foreign currency requests
  • Reviews loan registers, repayment schedules and reconciliation to the GL
  • Requests foreign currency from banks

Operational Finance Management

  • Oversees Accounts Payable processing and supplier payments
  • Ensures timely processing of statutory payments
  • Oversees payroll processing and ensures accurate and timely salary payments

Budget Coordination

  • Coordinates submission of budget inputs from Divisions
  • Consolidates and reviews budget data for completeness
  • Prepares the annual budget for review by the Financial Controller
  • Prepares the budget slides for review by the Financial Controller

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Reviews audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures notes for external audit
  • Responsibility for the coordination of the external audit
  • Responds to routine audit and tax queries
  • Coordinates statutory, VAT, BIR, PAYE and NIB audits
  • Maintains documentation to support compliance requirements

Leadership & General Accountabilities

  • Supervises Accounting Staff and reviews their work
  • Ensures adherence to timelines and internal policies
  • Supports training and development of team members
  • Reviews performance appraisals and makes promotion recommendations
  • Engages in continuous improvement in systems and processes, including but not limited to:
    • Engage in simplification, or error-reduction initiatives
    • Track the implementation and outcomes of improvements

Knowledge and Experience

  •  A Professional Accounting Qualification
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role with at least three (3) years at a managerial level
  • Prior experience at one of the Big Four firms (EY, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG)
  • Experience with integrated Accounting software package(s)
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the Distribution/FMCG Sector
  •  Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to quality
