Finance Manager

Summary of Duties

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading financial operations by ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing reconciliations and supporting the growth and financial analysis of operations. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all financial transactions and direct the preparation of daily and monthly reconciliations, including primary, secondary, inventory, bank, and suspense accounts. 
  • Develop quality financial reporting and MIS reports with a focus on validating margins for subsidiaries and external stakeholders.
  • Verify and validate all business expenses, debit notes, distributor claims, and settlements to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Strictly monitor marketing and operating expenses against approved budgets to ensure cost management and business efficiency.
  • Coordinate with local customers to ensure the timely collection of receivables in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Lead the coordination of local and corporate audits (monthly or project-specific) and ensure all statutory filings comply with local legal and financial frameworks.

 

 

 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

  • Completion of the ACCA professional qualification or an equivalent certification is essential.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in financial management at a senior level, with a proven track record of managing complex financial transactions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, along with a strong ability to conduct financial forecasting, data modeling, and meaningful high-level analysis of operating results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively liaison with the Board of Directors, external auditors, and statutory bodies such as the FSC and JSE.
  • The ability to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team to support sustainable growth and optimize capital allocation.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet demanding reporting deadlines, manage significant expenditure cycles, and oversee audit functions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professional decorum
