The Finance Manager is responsible for financial strategies, risk management and budgeting decisions for the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited.

JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Manager is responsible for financial strategies, risk management and budgeting decisions for the Agency. The incumbent provides insight and leadership to ensure sound financial management practices, while developing and maintaining a strong financial infrastructure that supports the Agency’s strategic goals. The Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting and audits, setting goals and priorities for the Finance Team, and provide executive-level guidance for overall financial operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversees all financial operations of the company, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Develops and implements financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's overall strategic goals and objectives.
  • Leads financial planning and forecasting processes, providing accurate and timely financial reports, analysis, and insights to support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Manages relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, and auditors.
  • Ensures that risk is managed through compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Provides strategic guidance and financial expertise to the Executive Team and Board of Directors, contributing to the development and execution of business plans and growth initiatives.
  • Drives cost management initiatives and identifies areas for operational efficiency.
  • Assesses and manages financial risks, develops appropriate risk mitigation strategies and ensures comprehensive internal controls are in place.
  • Manages a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Adheres to the Procurement Policy and procedures where it is applicable.
  • Adheres to the Health and Safety Policy and procedures at the Agency.
  • Excellent managerial skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and accounting standards and procedures.
  • Excellent ability to develop financial policies and procedures.
  • From time to time, performs other job-related tasks assigned, beside those set out in the Job Description.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA or CMA)
  • Eight (8) years experience.
  • No less than three (3) years management experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Intermediate knowledge of corporate governance framework and requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite and accounting software.
  • Excellent financial budgeting, planning and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of auditing concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent accounting and reporting skills.
