FT Farfan - Field Sales Representative (Heavy Equipment, Trucks and Material Handling)

Job Purpose

Join a market-leading team at FT Farfan Limited. As a Field Sales Representative, you will promote and market our full line of heavy equipment, trucks, and material-handling products, providing exceptional service and technical support to customers. This role plays a key part in driving sales growth and building long-term customer relationships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell heavy equipment, trucks, and material-handling equipment, while continuously identifying opportunities to introduce solutions.
  • Recommend appropriate products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Place and monitor customer orders, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and handovers.
  • Manage customer accounts within approved credit limits and company policy.
  • Collect revenues and process account adjustments when required.
  • Assist in advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products, services, pricing, and promotions.
  • Promote and sell JCB equipment and forklift/truck lines, continually seeking new market opportunities.
  • Demonstrate active adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, and foster HSE awareness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

 Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) CXC O’ Level passes inclusive of  English  Language and Mathematics;
  • Or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Sales environment.
  • Technical background in heavy equipment or trucks is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Must own a reliable vehicle and hold a valid Driver’s Permit for local travel.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—written and oral.
  • Negotiation and persuasion to close deals and handle objections.
  • Customer relationship management to develop repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Technical aptitude to explain equipment specifications and applications confidently.
  • Territory and time management for efficient scheduling and follow-up.
  • Self-motivation and accountability, with the ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making to address on-site challenges quickly.
  • Commitment to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and safe work practices.
