Project Manager – Generator Installation Project
Project Duration: 4 Months
Location: Islandwide Jamaica
Reports To: Senior Management
Job Summary:
We are seeking a strong Project Manager to oversee execution of a national infrastructure project involving the installation of standby generators across multiple locations. This role will coordinate civil works, electrical installation, logistics, contractors, timelines, safety, and client communication to ensure successful delivery within the 4-month schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full execution of generator installation project across multiple sites.
- Coordinate construction of electrical rooms, plinths, trenching, cable routes, and switchgear installation.
- Supervise subcontractors, technicians, and site teams.
- Monitor schedule, milestones, costs, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety procedures.
- Liaise directly with client representatives and internal management.
- Manage generator delivery, placement, commissioning, and handover.
- Prepare progress reports, risk registers, and recovery plans if delays occur.
- Maintain quality control across all sites.
Requirements:
- Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years experience managing construction, electrical, or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of civil works, generators, switchgear, and site execution.
- Excellent leadership and contractor management ability.
- Strong scheduling and planning skills (MS Project preferred).
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel islandwide.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
